True story! One of our very valued customers, UCAR, came to us in need of a solution to a terrible problem they were having in their parking lot. The problem they were experiencing was the way their office building was designed, with a curved facade facing west. As the days got progressively warmer the windows in the curvature created a magnifying glass effect which would actually melt the exteriors of the cars. Our solution was to put a solar awning over every window in the curvature to dramatically reduce the sun rays devastating effects, which worked beautifully! We have been continually focused on designing the most optimal shade structures for vehicles and aesthetic solar carports available. And though UCAR was not an actual carport solution, it did help the cars’ exteriors from melting due to excessive heat being focused on the vehicles parked in the lot.
