Marlboro Electric Coop Bends the Curve with Custom LSX Carport

Marlboro Electric Coop engaged Lumos to design a custom solar canopy for their new headquarters building in Bennettsville, South Carolina.  When we supplied the renderings below for the custom carport we proposed, Marlboro was initially very skeptical due to a negative experience they had with a previous solar carport project.  The last solar carport they installed was nothing like the images shared by the previous installers, so they were concerned about our ability to deliver a finished project anything like our drawings.  The custom structure is curved in two axes supporting the LSX Module System with custom in-fill panels in the wedges created to create a weatherproof array.

Everyone was extremely happy when the final product ended up looking exactly like the renderings we supplied.

“The solar installation completed by Lumos at our electric cooperative’s new headquarters in Bennettsville, SC turned out even better than we had hoped. They were professional and easy to work with, and the construction process was flawless. Doubling as a wave-shaped pergola, the installation itself is a work of art, and I am proud to point out the solar structure when showing our new building to visitors and the attendees each year at our Annual Meeting.” William Fleming Jr. MeC President and CEO
