We were grateful and honored for the opportunity when Florida Power & Light asked us to help them make a statement demonstrating their commitment to solar energy for their sponsorship of Super Bowl LIV in Miami Bayfront Park. As a utility, FPL are national leaders in solar and storage and wanted to make sure the structure they installed would be cutting edge today and just as relevant twenty years from now! After getting the call and touring the site, we knew we had the perfect solution!
Lumos provided our new Solarscape Long Span structure to cover a curved walkway at the entrance to the amphitheater. The curved, Long Span structure we provided features a super efficient space frame structural design that allows us to achieve over 50′ spans between foundations. The solar array uses our GSX BiFi Module System for maximum energy harvest combined with custom in-fill glass installed in the “wedges” allowing us to complete the curve with a continuous, weatherproof array. To top it all off, the integrated LED lighting we installed can change colors to match the lighting throughout the entire Bayfront Park. The structure was installed by SEM Power, the leading installer of Lumos structures anywhere!
