Solar Shaded Schools: A Case Study

After integrating Lumos SolarScape shade structures into 15 Denver Public Schools, there is no doubt that solar and shade play a harmonious role in protecting students and their communities. This case study explores how solar shade structures benefit schools by shading their students, teachers, and playground equipment. Based on interviews from several school principals, it is clear that combining efficient solar mechanisms with shade structures create resilient environments for schools. Not only do Lumos SolarScapes enhance student wellbeing by creating cooler, safer places to rest and play, they also reduce school energy bills by providing clean, renewable energy that modernizes and protects playground equipment.
