Pacific American Group Solar Canopy in Sausalito: 104 Caledonia Street is a professional office building in historic Sausalito, CA which currently serves as the headquarters for Pacific American Group. 104 Caledonia sits right on Richardson Bay, a stunning coastal setting ideal for a solar installation which also provides shade. Pacific American Group owns and manages industrial, commercial and residential properties throughout the Bay Area, with a portfolio of exceptional California based properties. They specialize in “Spaces Where People Thrive”.
Symmetric Energy, Inc. designed and installed this Lumos Pacific American Group Solar Canopy in Sausalito to achieve this bright solar canopy entrance.
Symmetric and PAG joined with smappee to create advanced smart charging solutions, including EV charging, at their HQ in Sausalito. Sustainability goals met!
For this project Symmetric Energy used 12 of our Vision S-32 solar panels for an entry canopy which lets dappled light through. The ’32’ in S-32 denotes the quantity of solar cells in our S series of modules. Our S-type modules have several different configurations of cell layouts: 60 cell, 48 cell, 32 cell, and 0 cell. The 32 cell format used for our Solar Entry Canopy in Sausalito allows great light transmittance.
Check out our project gallery for more images. These modules strike a unique balance between power production and shade. Higher cell configurations create more power and more shade because a greater proportion of the module is covered in cells. Depending on the balance of an end user’s energy and structural needs, Lumos has a variety of modules in our Vision Module Systems.
The S-type, like the S-32 featured at 104 Caledonia, is an interior mount solution. This means all edges of the module are exposed. Therefore, the S-type is ideal for unique module mounting scenarios and non-contiguous arrays. These modules feature floating edges on each side, with rails only on edges. To allow the high degree of light transmittance in our Solar Entry Canopy in Sausalito, Symmetric Energy chose to use our S-type modules because of their exposed edges which let in more light.
As well as the S-type featured above, our Vision Module Systems include an L-type module. In contrast to the S-type, the L-type has mounting options that create cantilevered glass edges. That is, L-type modules form a floating glass edge on the boundary of an array. The L-type’s edge and shared rails make it well-suited for contiguous arrays. Similar to the S-type, Lumos’ L-type modules have different cell layout configurations for: 72, 60, 40 and 0 cells.
