From concept to actual, an outdoor kitchen gets a solar touch

What concept can you make into a reality with LSX?

Spring and summer are perfect for spending outdoors with family and friends. The Bitting family wanted to do exactly that with an outdoor kitchen that would complete their back patio. To keep this outdoor kitchen shaded while running the refrigerator that will keep the beer cool, the homeowner conceived and designed a solar arbor with Lumos LSX clear, frameless modules.

To bring this project to fruition, the homeowner worked with Green Ox Energy Solutions near Dallas, TX. The “design called for hollow beams to house and conceal micro-inverters and wiring,” said Green Ox Energy Solutions. The micro-inverters allow each panel to function independently, so if one panel were to become shaded, the rest of the system would continue to run optimally.

LSX is the perfect solar panel to use for this type of overhead/roof application. Not only is the system beautiful, but also LSX is the only solar panel to have achieved a class 4 hail rating, making it the most impact resistant module in the industry. McKinney, TX is no stranger to hail with over 20 reports of hail of 1-2” in diameter in 2014 to-date.

The Bitting family can show off their system with pride. And if the weather decides to turn, family and friends can choose to continue their fun, well protected under their solar array, or calmly walk into the house to enjoy each other’s company indoors.
